After a week of a faint smell of mildew, I finally checked our water meter to find that we did in fact have something leaking but could not be seen.  I called 3 companies with no immediate answer.  I called Leak Star and Timo answered.  He was calm and professional as I explained our issues.  He was able to quickly diagnose our problem as a hot water slab leak and set a time to come check it out.  He was timely and knew exactly what had to be done.  The following day I had questions, I called, he picked up, knew exactly who I was and able to put my mind at ease.

I had an undetected slab leak in my guest room and the water damage was fairly extensive.  I found Leak Star on Yelp who had an excellent customer rating.  Timo came out the next day and throughly explained to me what mitigation work would entail.  He then went to work and found the source of the leak.  Within the course of the next few days, he took care of everything, including removal (drywall, baseboard, baseboard, flooring, carpet, cabinet, sink), drying (using several dehumidifiers), and repiping/rerouting.  Although repiping/rerouting was not covered by my insurance, Timo explained to me the Pros/Cons and I decided to do it to eliminate any anxiety of this happening again.  What impressed me the most about Timo was his professional demeanor and work ethic.  He showed up at 8AM every morning and worked til 5PM (or later on some days).  He is also honest and friendly too.   He also worked very closely with my insurance company which was very helpful.  I would highly recommend Timo and he would be the first person to call if this ever happens again (which I hope not)!  TT in San Diego on Yelp

Repiping your home in Escondido is probably one of the stress causing  repairs you will ever have to make on your home. When profesional slab leak detection reveals that that you do indeed have a slab leak, repiping may be your best option. However, it's important to consider your past leak issues before jumping to repiping.

Do You Have Other Options Before Repiping?

Before jumping right in, thinking that repiping is your only choice, it's important to consider your homes history. Is this your first slab leak or pinhole leak? Your second or maybe it's your 3rd?

If this is your first pinhole or slab leak than we are unlikely not going to recommend repiping your entire home. Rather, with your first leak we would recommend a single line reroute around the failing copper pipe.

If you have already had a slab leak or pinhole leak in the past .....red flags start appearing, meaning it's possible that the copper pipe is failing throughout your house. But still, you might want to do one more single line reroute.

But, if you are on your third leak, we always recommend repiping the entire house. It just is not cost effective to keep rerouting past one water line at a time. You will just keep having leaks appear more and more as the copper continues to fail.

If it is determined that you need to go ahead and repipe your whole house we can do that too. For an average 3 bedroom 2 bath house, we can usually complete the job in less than a week AND you won't have to move out!
